Applications for Neurodevelopmental Disabilities training are processed through NRMP and ERAS.
NDD programs may have one or a combination of one of three different types of positions available through the Match.
To learn which programs are offering what types of positions, check this link: https://www.childneurologysociety.org/careers/getting-in/training-programs
- Categorical (for applicants who have not done any prior residency training)- a two-year pediatric program is linked with NDD program within the same institution. You would complete all of your training in the same institution.
- Advanced (for applicants who have not done any prior residency training) -the NDD program only offers the 4 year NDD training; you would apply and need to match into a two-year pediatric program simultaneously but separately.
- Reserved – for physicians who have already completed a minimum of 2 years of an ACGME accredited pediatrics program and who meets pediatric board certification requirements. A reserved position would offer the 4 years of NDD training starting July 1 after the same year’s Match.
